In brief: #TechStartupJobs Fair London Spring 2013

by Bianca Anason, 25 February 2013

Developers, start-up founders, accelerator organisers and investors spent a few hours all together networking and talking about cool jobs. The spring edition of #TechStartupJobs Fair by TechMeetups in London was hosted at Innovation Warehouse at the end of February. Here’s a summary of how much fun we had.

Over 100 job seekers came to meet and show-off their CVs and portfolios to the startups entrepreneurs. We met some great and enthusiastic developers, designers, marketers and product managers.

Over the course of three hours, job seekers mingled with some exciting startup businesses. Among the employers were Yammer, Elance, Notiss, Cannovate, Xomo Digital, QuidProQuo, Seren, Present Me, Fusion at London, and Vtradr.

The skills they were looking for ranged from Ruby on Rails developing, JavaScript engineering, iOS and Android developing, business development, marketing, user interface designing and other roles. Check out their websites for updates on their current job-searches.

We also had the chance to listen to a lightning pitch from each of the present businesses to find out what each company is working on, what kind of colleagues they are looking for and how cool their teams are.

Iain Rorison, Commercial Partnership Manager at Notiss.me, said “It was the first (recruitment) event that we did and it was great to see such interest in our product.”

TechStartupJobs runs this job fair for startups within Techmeetups’ 21 global tech communities with over 8,000 active members. TechStartupJobs Fair was set up to help startups find the talent they need. The team is an important key in turning a great idea into a successful business.
