In this interview by Urban Times, Festicket co-founder Zack Sabban talks about the misadventure that brought the company to life and his view on the future of music festivals and entrepreneurship.

Festicket – a new way to get music fans to the festival without the fuss

What exactly is Festicket?

We provide ticket and travel packages to the world’s best music festivals, catering for all budgets. Festicket have over 100 festivals with well over 5,000 packages to choose from.

What is your vision?

We aim to make an arduous and expensive task very simple and cost effective, whilst providing great customer support to ensure a really smooth experience, allowing our customers to just enjoy themselves at the festival.

How did the idea come about?

I love travelling to music festivals, especially when it involves going abroad, but it has always been such a time consuming process to research travel, accommodation and tickets for a festival or a location that I don’t know much about. This is especially so when you’re also trying to liaise with a group of friends and make decisions.

Describe your growth so far?

In 2012 we handled just 10 festivals, which resulted in a 6,000€ turnover with over 2,000 members signed up to our site and mailing lists. 2013 has seen a huge leap to 100 festivals and over 90,000 member profiles and 5,000 travellers in few summer months … numbers are steadily growing!

What lessons have you learned trying to raise?

So far we have learnt that it’s important to be patient, to persevere, and above all it’s vital to be confident in your product and it’s potential.
